Happy Thanksgiving!
Like everyone here, Tropical Storm/Hurricane Noel took us by surprise. Wemyss Bight and the surrounding area suffered extensive flooding, rendering many of the roads impassable and many families homeless. It took a full 6 days for the flooding to subside enough for all the roads to be reopened, and local homes are still being repaired.
With Hurricane Season now officially over, the cold fronts are beinging their march southward, bringing with them rain and cooler air. The water temperature here has dropped slightly to 76F, so wetsuits are still very much 'optional'! We are still seeing large numbers of lionfish on the wall, but thankfully they appear to have vacated the reefs around the Boiling Hole (where many juvenile fish are present).
This month we certified our first PADI Rescue Diver from this shop, and our first PADI Digital Underwater Photographer. Congratulations to Mark and Brian!
